About the Lists
The word lists are arranged alphabetically according to the Hanyu pinyin romanisation of the word, as it appears in the original Sinophone writing. Each word entry has part of speech information, the general category that the word fits into, “original” word in the script of the relevant Tibeto-Burman language (where available), the Chinese and English meanings, and a sample sentence where the headword has been used.
For example, the entry “阿古” (pinyin agu) is a noun, in Naxi it is the word eqggv, an appellation meaning “小舅” or “wife's younger brother”, and an example sentence is given from a story by Naxi author Yang Zhengwen.
Example:
阿古 (n.)
